When it comes to updating your hotel’s design, you may be cringing, thinking of the expense of a large renovation. Sometimes, that is the investment that you need to make to your hotel in order to retain customers, however, other options may still help you to achieve an updated look without breaking the bank.
In this article, we will focus on the kitchenette. Since the pandemic, more guests are looking for options to be able to dine in their room. We have seen a trend of guests wanting to prepare their own meals and enjoy them in their room or suite.
To stay competitive with other hotels, your hotel’s kitchenette must be up-to-date. Here are a few ideas on how you can update your hotel’s kitchenettes without undergoing an entire renovation.
Countertops
If you can only make one big change to your kitchenette, change your countertop. The countertop covers a lot of space, so this one change can create a whole new look. An older countertop will instantly age your space. A beautiful granite or quartz countertop will instantly improve your room’s look. While it’s not the most frugal change, it is certainly less than a complete remodel.
Cabinets
A large focal point in any kitchenette is the cabinets. Replacing the cabinets costs thousands of dollars and frankly may not be necessary. Why not try one of these smaller changes?
- Repaint your cabinets. The solution may be no more than a coat of paint!
- Change the fixtures. Fixtures are the jewelry of the kitchen – and for only a couple of dollars apiece, you can create a whole new look.
- Display your dishes. Either replace the panes with glass or remove some doors altogether, this works great if you have interesting or beautiful dishes to display.
Walls
A fresh coat of paint is always a good idea. As with countertops, the walls cover a lot of real estate, so a new colour will easily change the room’s look.
