Hi! My name is Michaela and I am one of the Design Assistants here at LWI. My role is all about supporting our talented designers and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. With a genuine passion for helping others, I strive to make our clients’ experiences as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Whether coordinating details or assisting with project logistics, I’m here to lend a hand and a smile every step of the way.

What is your Role at LWI?
I am a design assistant at LWI, so I handle design documents, schedule meetings, and assist in the organization of projects. I also get to have a hand in our marketing and social media. Mostly I help wherever needed and am ready to do any task no matter how big or small!
How do you stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies?
I am a big fan of the LWI blog, as someone who hasn’t been in the industry very long I have a lot to learn and Lesley’s blog posts have a ton of valuable information! It covers a variety of topics that specifically relate to hospitality design and they are all great reads. Social media is also a big help, I can see what other respected interior designers are coming up with and see what’s trending amongst them all.
What design finish or material do you love working with the most?
I am a big texture person, I love getting samples in and feeling all the fabrics, tiles, and wall vinyl’s. Out off all of them I have to say my favourite is a soft and silky fabric, or a smooth matte tile. But anything with a unique texture will always be a favourite of mine. I think that designs with interesting textiles take spaces above and beyond and create the most memorable experience for guests.
